Professional Certificate of Halal Pharmapreneur

Empowering Pharmacists for the Halal Era

How It Started

Launched in 2017, the Duopharma Biotech Halal Pharmapreneur (DBHP) programme empowers community pharmacists with:

To date, 33 participants from community pharmacies across Peninsular Malaysia have completed the programme. DBHP helps pharmacists guide patients on halal medicines, giving them greater peace of mind regarding the safety, efficacy, quality, and hygiene of the products they use.

Where It’s Headed

In 2022, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), in collaboration with Duopharma Biotech Berhad and the Malaysian Pharmacists Society, elevated the Halal Pharmapreneur programme by launching the Professional Certificate of Halal Pharmapreneur.

This certification features structured training on:

Halalan Toyyiban principles
Halal science
Assurance systems
Drug monitoring
Halal-focused community pharmacy services
Ethical and Shariah-compliant business practices for pharmacists
